About Donna Hull

The travel bug is like an itch you can’t quite scratch. I call it itchy feet.

I’m a freelance writer specializing in baby boomer travel. And, I should know because I’m a baby boomer.

From a jeep adventure in Canyon de Chelly to luxury cruising above the Arctic Circle, I write content that captures the essence of place combined with the thrill of discovery. My travel publication credits include AZ3Sixty Magazine, Lovin Life After 50, Fifty Plus, Live Life Travel, Oro Valley Marana Magazine plus many others. At Tucson on the Cheap, I’m one of the writers who provides content about entertainment and travel bargains in Tucson, Arizona.

Besides travel, I’m inspired by the people I meet. You can find my human interest articles in Her Sports + Fitness Magazine, Oro Valley/Marana Magazine, Loving Life After 50 and Desert Dog News.

But, this blog is about baby boomer travel. Where to go, what to do, and how to do it. So, ask a question. I’ll find the answer. Or, post a comment to share your baby boomer travel advice.

I want to go, see and do it all.

How about you?

  2. Hi Donna,

This is a great site. I, for one, love to read of your travels and those of other “boomers”. It is fun to learn of new travel sites.

  6. Donna: What a great start. My feet are itching to go along with you! Where are we off to next?

    Best wishes, Margo

  7. Loved everything – can’t wait to read more. We met on the cruise to Norway. Even if I didn’t recognise the nail polished foot in the photo, sure have seen that background before. Hope this site exceeds your expectations. All the best. Lee

  8. Love the new site Donna! We’ll have to cpmpare notes about Kiawah. We’re heading to Canyon de Chelly this weekend – I’m off to look at your pix.

  9. Donna, love your site! It’s great to see that boomers are out there having fun and living life to their fullest. Your articles are very insightful and well written. I am looking forward to reading about your next adventure!

  10. Thanks Margo, Lee, Leslie and Debbie for the welcoming responses. Hope you’ll stop by often to ask questions or contribute travel advice.

  11. Well done Donna! Your blog and writings have gone from strength to strength. I’m looking forward to reading about your adventures, the only problem being all those places you name don’t mean a lot to someone from the UK. Interesting to see you’ve done the reverse of the Pacific cruise on which we met. Hope you enjoyed it as much.

  12. I followed your various trips at travelblog.org, where I started with some comments on Korea. I’ll look forward to your future blogs. I am an academic and doing a bit of “research” on tourism, especially in Southeast Asia. I love Bali and loved your pictures of Bali and Tahiti. I am using my middle name for travelblog.org

  13. Your pictures are great. Sometimes it is hard to tell if you or Alan took a picture.

My own web site is a bit academic, I’m afraid:

  14. Thanks for commenting, Iemke. When I use photographs from other photogaphers, I credit their work. However, I haven’t given Alan any credit for the photos of me on this blog. I’ll be correcting that error in the near future. Thanks for asking about it.

Most of the photos that you see on this blog were taken by yours truly.

  15. Hi Donna:

Hope your sight continues to grow. It’s fun keeping up with you!!

We are part of a group planning a cruise next fall to Greece. Any suggestions you would like to pass our way?

  16. Excellent blog. I love the veranda shot with the knit cap and bathrobe. Something you’d rarely see in the Caribbean! Good luck on your future travels, and feel free to comment on the blog at any time.

  17. You’re a good writer, rare on blogs these days. I spend 27 mins following your links around, LOVE those One Sole Shoes under “GEAR.”

When and if you get around to writing about Arizona or the anti-tourist parts of Florida, my blog has lots of content, I have green vacation rentals there, high comfort, low impact ones that were mentioned in the NY Times.

  18. Donna: I’m almost too embarrassed to ask but I promised to give you an update on something when I had done it – any clues?

  19. Cool site Donna. Are you on Twitter?

  20. I’ve been enjoying reading the blog entries about South African game drives – keep up the excellent writing.

  21. You’re definitely a person I’d like to meet–full of adventure, starting your own blog, likes to write, possibly a little bunion activity on that left big toe. Good luck networking.

  22. Jamie, I am now. Look for me on Twitter @DonnaLHull.
